Tottenham Hotspur supporters who jeered keeper Vicario were told later "they can't be true Tottenham fans" by boss Thomas Frank.

Tottenham let in a pair of scores in the first six minutes to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their 10th Premier League at home defeat of 2025.

But the main topic of discussion was the visitors' second score when Vicario gave away possession well beyond his box.

The goalkeeper ventured out to handle a high pass and took the ball near the touchline.

But, rather than booting it out of play, the Italy international spun and tried to clear, but slipped as the ball glanced off Wilson and was controlled by King.

King laid the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who bent a strike into the net from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six metres.

Moments later when the ball went to Vicario again, a number of Spurs fans booed him.

The team were jeered off at half-time, with the side 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.

A particular of those booing sessions truly angered the manager.

"It came to my attention some of our fans apparently booed the incident and jeered after, which, in my view is totally unacceptable," the Dane stated regarding the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.

"Those individuals cannot be true Tottenham supporters that do that. Fair enough booing following the game, fine, but when we are playing, we are supporting each other, we are behind each other going forward."

Kenny Tete had handed the visitors a fourth-minute advantage before Harry Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an better second period performance.

Ex- Premier League goalkeeper Hart stated that the next score was "totally preventable".

"I certainly understand the supporters' disappointment," the ex-keeper continued. "I know the role Vicario is performing. He's a great squad member, he is a true figure in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your actions.

"The keeper was heavily implicated in what turned out to be the decisive goal."

'It is Part of Football, I'm a Big Man'

Italy national team the keeper is in his third campaign with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old said after the game that he had to accept the feedback.

"The second score was a mistake of mine, I accept accountability for it," he commented.

"My aim was to kick the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a bad manner. That made an more difficult challenge to overcome."

He said receiving jeers "is part of football".

"I am mature, how can I respond?" he continued. "The team can't be affected by the situation in the stands. Supporters have the entitlement to do what they think.

"It is on the team to remain increasingly calm, to focus on our own performance. We are missing in composure and poise to overturn results. Today is a poor defeat and it's hard to accept."

'It Shocked Me Nobody Went Back to the Line'

In spite of Vicario's error, it was far from an simple score for Wilson to score.

Actually it was the second most distant Premier League score of the campaign – following Adams' forty-three point three yard strike for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which interestingly also occurred on Saturday.

The goalscorer said he was "somewhat surprised" that he still had an empty goal to aim for.

'During in a Bad Spell, All Appears to Go Against You'

While the keeper's error led coverage, this was an overall bad performance for Spurs to continue their home ground struggles.

The match was their 10th at home defeat of the year in the league, a joint club record matching 1994 and 2003.

The side still have home fixtures against the manager's old side the Bees and champions the Reds to come prior to the end of the season.

Just a single of those wins have occurred since the manager took over from Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.

"When you're behind 2-0 following six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.

"When you're in a poor run, everything appears to work against you too – the opening was a deflected shot, the next is a error from the keeper.

"The outcome puts us in a position where we have lost an additional match. Each fixture has a unique story, this game we lost in the early stages.

"We simply need to keep working. The second half was much better and with luck an aspect we can utilize to learn."

Spurs have lost 4 straight at home London derbies for the initial time in the Premier League.

And they are recording nine point five shots and 3.2 efforts on goal per match in the division – their lowest averages on file in a one campaign (dating back to the 2003-04 season).
