19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since that period of 2023.
The win also means he has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and regular reactions on court had led some to question if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an improved service.
He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
