Canada's Blue Jays Earn World Series Matchup Against defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team advanced to their maiden World Series after 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the final Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh frame, propelling the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a four games to three win in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, who are the defending champions, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm thrilled for everyone here, Toronto, the nation," said Springer, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "It's truly an incredible feeling."

George Springer has now connected for 23 total post-season home runs, making him third all-time after Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person anywhere that I'd choose in that spot except for Springer with his playoff prowess," remarked manager John Schneider.

Seattle's team, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the sole team yet to make an appearance in a Fall Classic.

Manager Dan Wilson said "without a doubt that it hurts" following his team's loss at their home ballpark, but praised their efforts throughout the year.

"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we ended up on the losing end of this one," he added.

Toronto's team claimed the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Dodgers in game one on the upcoming Friday.
